Department Information

Our Office of Academic and Student Affairs Office has begun the search for the Dean of Extended Learning.

To fulfill the functions of division leadership and administration in a
manner that promotes the quality of student learning, fiscal
sustainability, and alignment with the College’s strategic directions.

Essential Functions

  • Promotes a unified vision for the division as a whole, which highlights the division as an important contributor within the college and as a representative of the college within the community.
  • Plans, organizes, administers, develops, and evaluates programs, projects, and activities of assigned academic departments and programs; provides leadership (and works collegially with) faculty and staff to offer high quality educational services for students; and supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned faculty, managers, classified staff, and student workers.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with local educational agencies, employers, government bodies, non-profit agencies, economic development organizations, and non-governmental organizations for the purpose of serving the workforce training needs of the College and identifying additional program resources.
  • Develops strategies to maximize the offering of both fee-based courses and non-credit courses to provide educational opportunities to the community.
  • Provides leadership in the areas of program and curriculum development, program assessment and review, program improvement, and staff development.
  • Collaborates with the Vice President, Associate Vice Presidents, and area Deans to create and sustain course offering and pathways for the college.
  • Collaborates with the Vice President, Associate Vice Presidents, and area Deans to create and sustain pathways for non-credit students into credit programs.
Required Education:
  • Master’s degree in a related field
Required Experience:
  • Requires three (3) years of increasingly responsible administrative, management, and leadership experience of which no less than one (1) year must be in one or more of the following areas: Higher Education; Economic or Workforce Development; Entrepreneurship; Organizational Management or Leadership and Strategic Implementation (of products or services).
  • Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
  • Ability to obtain current Oregon Driver’s license by date of hire required.
